Justin Brunelle is a native of Virginia, living and working in Hampton Roads. Justin holds a PhD in Computer Science from Old Dominion University where his research focused on web science and information retrieval. As Chief Scientist of the Software Engineering Innovation Center at The MITRE Corporation, he conducts research to help government sponsors more effectively adopt emerging technologies and implement technology-focused innovation. He continues to research topics in web science and web-based information retrieval through MITRE IR&D and continues to publish and serve as a reviewer for conferences and journals. In his role as Chief Scientist, Justin is responsible for the internal and external research presence and activities of the 500+ staff in the Software Engineering Innovation Center.
